Meet Inspector Javert. To be fair, you'd probably rather not unless you're an upstanding citizen, and even then he's not exactly the most pleasant of company. But that's the fun of it. Contrary to popular opinion he doesn't arrest people indiscriminately, but if you do break the law and he sees it, you can bet your last louis you're going to jail. He gets immense satisfaction out of it, seeing it as restoring order in the face of chaos. So yeah, not quite just a job for him.

FRIENDS are not impossible, just unlikely. He doesn't see them as a necessity. There'd have to be some kind of respect involved, which, lbr, probably means fellow law enforcement, though anyone who's not actively a criminal could probably wind up somewhere between that and ENEMY if they really work at it. He doesn't waste his time on hating most people individually, though he's antagonistic to many. For the most part any real animosity will be going one way. As for LOVE, he doesn't deny it exists, but much like friendship, doesn't see the point. [We make a lot of jokes around here about a certain convict, but not generally to his face.]

I didn't know if you wanted Gavroche to recognize Perkins!vert or not, due to the different face claims and such. But I'm going for a pre-barricade thread. Where Gavroche witnesses a crime/murder and Javert has to track the gamin down, keep him still for /at least five minutes/, and figure out what he saw? *flails arms idly*

Sophia Strange & Javert
Sophia is this lovely girl. She lives in New Orleans, a priest is the bane of her existence, and she's a sorcereress + hidden heir to another planet. Soooo two plots for you *throws them like confetti* :

1. Sophia's Principal, a priest, hires Javert to basically find proof that Sophia is a witch (says its a mission for the church). She soon figures out she's being followed and confronts him.

2. Javert ends up magicaly transported to New Orleans, Sophia feels the transportation and tracks him down to the alley where he's shown up in all his top-hatted glory.

Well, I guess technically he shouldn't, especially since Javert is sort of... not from the musical, whoops. I'll defer to you though, because I love their cat-and-mouse thing but basically that's going to end up happening whenever their first meeting is. And it doesn't exactly affect your plot idea (which is fab by the way), so we just need to decide.

As fun as it would be that they don't recognize each other, its equally fun that they do. Since the plot is going pre-barricade I'd go with they know each other regardless of the face change. If you want to start this one, that would be lovely <3

ESPECIALLY since New Orleans (particularly the French Quarter) is like taking a step back in time. Ignore the modern day clothing and the sky scrappers in the distance, that is. There are old buildings, Voodoo Parlors, French Restaurants and Cafés (that serve beignetsssss). Cops even ride around on horses! (through rivers of drunken people). Obviously this is the best place ever. *throws into your grabby hands*

The question is: which plot do you want to go for? One or two? I'm partial to one but could go for both. And I'll start it regardless <3
