LOKI
"So I’m just another stolen relic, locked away here until you might have use of me?".
I am an arms dealer
Fitting you with weapons in the form of words
And don't really care which side wins
As long as the room keeps singing
That's just the business I'm in, yeah
I'm a leading man
And the lies I weave are oh so intricate,
Oh so intricate

Powers:
Superhuman Strength: Though not as strong as Thor or most Asgardian males, Loki can lift twice as much as a Midgardian male. Using herbs and potions, his strength can increase. However, compared to the rest of the pantheon, he comes up short as far as strength is concerned.
Stamina: Loki’s Frost Giant Heritage grants him the stamina of a Frost Giant. Able to go for miles running without stopping. Like with strength, he can increase this through magical means. However, if he exerts himself for too long (around 24-48 hours, depending on what he’s doing) he can pass out from exhaustion, no matter what he’s doing or what magical enchantments he’s placed on himself.
Longevity: Loki, as a member of the Asgardian race, ages at a much slower rate than average humans. However, Loki is not immortal or untouchable. If he is wounded, he could die.
Sorcery: Now we come to the most important of Loki’s powers. Loki is a master enchanter. He can enchant items or lesser beings to do his bidding. He can also create illusions, sometimes several at a time. He is also able to shape shift into different people and things, impersonating them for a period of time. Occupation:
Prince of Asgard, God of Mischief,Ruler of Earth
Personality:
The first thing you need to understand about Loki is that he has a silver tongue. He can soothe and cut to pieces at the same time. He can act like he is your best friend and confidante, and be stabbing you in the back while he is talking about how much he likes you. He is the king of lies, not because he is so obvious about it, but because he is such a good liar. He is the Trickster because he has a naturally mischievous personality. Nothing gives him more joy than playing a practical joke on someone (especially if that someone is his brother). He is a master puppeteer, able to pull on the strings of others to get what he wants, and no one will know what he is after until all the pieces are in place. His intelligence is staggering, and is known to bring even the most mighty Asgardians to their knees.
But underneath this confident manipulator is a cold, jealous man. He spent most of his life living a lie, trying to fit in to a world he was never destined to live in, and when he discovered the truth, it shattered his world, making him more alone than he ever thought possible. He is bitter toward Odin for not telling him the truth. And yes, he is very jealous of Thor and how easy he gains their father’s love. This attitude is the reason why he is so desperate to destroy Thor. He believes it will prove to their father that he would be the better king. He is extremely prideful, as he thinks because of his intelligence he would make a better ruler for Asgard.

History:
((General Warning: if you haven’t watched Thor 1, 2, or the Avengers. First of all: go watch them for gods sake! Second of all: They are described down here))
Long ago, during the ancient battle between Asgard and Jotunheim, the proud Odin entered the stronghold of Laufey the Frost Giant King. After defeating the king and declaring victory, he said he would leave the Frost Giants alone if he could take the Casket of Ancient Winters with him. As he went into the temple to fetch it, Odin heard the cry of an abandoned Frost Giant Child, a son of Laufey, abandoned for his small size. As Odin picked the child up in his arms, the blue skin turned pale, and the red eyes turned blue.
Odin took the child home with him to his wife and infant son Thor. There, he and his wife decided to raise him as their own, calling him Loki, and treating him as they did their own son. Odin’s hope was that when the child grew up, he could use him to finally bridge the gap of hostility between the Asgardians and the Jotuns. And so, throughout his youth, Loki had no idea that he was anything less than a Prince of Asgard.
However, Loki was not an Asgardian. He did not share the immense strength that they were so famous for. Instead, his strength came from his magical ability. His brother Thor had great physical strength, and was easily the favorite of their father Odin. Jealousy and the urge to gain his father’s approval made Loki trick and manipulate his older brother into looking like a fool. Because of this, he gained the reputation of a trickster as his mischievous personality shined through.
Loki came to believe that he would be the best one suited to be King of Asgard. He was obviously the most intelligent politician. He saw himself as more intelligent than Thor at any rate. It started to frustrate him internally as Thor continued to shine, and caused his jealousy and lust for power to rise.
During Thor’s coronation as Crown Prince of Asgard, Loki let Jotuns into Asgard as a joke and as a way to ruin Thor’s big day. However, even though they were stopped before taking the Casket of Ancient Winters, Thor would still not let it go. He insisted that the Jotun’s needed to be stopped. Loki in his smooth way told him he was right. That was all Thor needed to launch an attack on Jotunheim with his friends and little brother. They confronted Laufey, who called Odin a thief. And then, before Loki could smoothly pull Thor away, a fight broke out. Loki himself was in for a surprise, when the touch of a Jotun did not harm him, but merely turned his skin blue.
However, the group did not know that Loki had told the guards of his brother’s plan, hoping that Thor’s actions would displease his father. Once Laufey had denied Odin’s barter for peace, the Allfather took the group back to Asgard. He was surprised when Odin stripped his brother of his powers, sending him to Midgard in banishment.
In the midst of all this, Loki had time to ponder what had happened when the Jotun had touched him. Suspicious, he went into the vault and picked up the Casket of Ancient Winters. When he turned to confront Odin, who had caught him in the act, his skin had turned blue and eyes red, revealing what he had already come to fear. He demanded the truth, and learned from Odin that he was actually the son of Laufey.
His whole world torn apart, Loki watched as Odin fell into the ‘Odinsleep’ at the close of their confrontation. Since Thor was still in exile, Loki was given the throne. He was already scheming. After watching Thor for some time on Midgard, he went down and told Thor that Odin was dead, then manipulated obedience from his ‘subjects’, and finally he managed to get Laufey and the Jotuns to make an attempt on Odin’s life.
When the friends of Thor went to Midgard against Loki’s wishes, he sent the Destroyer after them. Then, as Laufey and his giants went after Odin, he revealed his true intentions, killing Laufey just before he could kill Odin. When Thor suddenly arrived, Loki explained that he would destroy the Jotun race. He went to the Bifrost, overloading it in the hopes that it would rip Jotunhiem apart. He fought Thor, during which Thor managed to destroy the Bifrost before it could destroy the home of the giants.
Loki found himself hanging over the void, holding Gungir which was held by Thor, who was anchored to the Bifrost by a recently-appeared Odin.. Loki tried to explain to Odin that what he was doing would be best for Asgard. When Odin sadly disagreed, Loki realized that he could never return to life in Asgard knowing what he knew. With that realization, he released the spear and allowed the void to take him.
He fell through the black hole, tortured by voices that reflected his failures, physically squeezed to the point of almost bursting. But he didn’t die, as much as he wished it.
Instead, he landed on the Chitauri home world (if it could even be called that). He was taken to the Chitauri’s leader; Thanos the Titian and his spokesman, a slithering creature called the ‘Other’. Thanos wanted to throw Loki to his Mistress Death, but Loki used his silver tongue. He told Thanos of the infinity gem that was held on Midgard. He brokered a deal with the Mad Titian: the Tesseract for a throne.
It took much to gain the Chitauri’s cooperation, but after many painful months he was finally given the scepter. This would give him powers to control the Chitauri army and other mortals, but it would also give him a mind-link with the Other. They didn’t trust their pet quite that much, they would be keeping an eye on him.
Loki’s first step was to manipulate Selvig into working with SHIELD. When he first officially met Nick Fury and SHIELD, it was Loki who opened the portal, Loki stepped through the other side. After a brief spat, he took over the mind of Selvig and Barton, told Fury his plans for earth, then escaped the facility with the Tesseract.
Now underground, Loki had Barton tell him everything he needed to know about the ‘Avengers Initiative’, and then formulated his plan. They needed a power source, and in order for Barton to get it they needed an eye. Loki gleefully went to Germany, ripping out the eye of the man they needed, and coming into contact with his first Avenger: Captain Rogers.
Loki surrendered himself (as planned) to Rogers when Romanoff and Stark arrive. It is on the plane when his plan went a bit awry:
Thor arrived, in all his glory, throwing his brother out of the plane and onto the ground. Ordering the Tesseract, Loki merely told his brother that he sent it off and he didn’t know where (which was the truth… kind of). He fended off his brother’s misguided attempts to bring him home (to a home that was never his to begin with). Then Loki watched merrily as Thor and Iron Man fought.
Once he was brought back to the Hellicarrier, Loki mocked Fury and Romanoff (though the latter divined his intent). Then his plan came to fruition when Barton attacked, unleashing the Hulk. He escapes while trapping his brother in his own cage (stabbing the agent that dared to point a weapon at him in the process) then let his brother fall. He then left for Stark Tower, to bring about the final part of his plan.
The plan was that Selvig engineered the a machine powered by the Tesseract to open and sustain a portal through which the Chitauri were unleashed on Manhattan. But the Chitauri were not expecting the Avengers. They failed; Loki was captured and brought back to Asgard in chains.
When he was brought back, Loki exchanged terse words with the man who he believed had used him as a stolen relic. His sentence was eternal imprisonment, spared the execution block by the love of his mother. While in the dungeon, his mother pleaded with him to see reason, but Loki’s heart was hardened even to her.
When the Dark Elves attacked, it was Loki who pointed the way to the shield generators.
It was a guard who told Loki that the Queen was dead. Loki’s grief was immediate, destroying everything in his room and even bringing harm upon himself. Not allowed to attend her funeral, he was left alone to weep. Worse yet was his guilt about the last words he had ever said toward Frigga.
When Thor arrived with his crazy plan to take down the Dark Elves, all Loki saw was revenge for his mother. He gladly went on Thor’s quest, helping him to get to the Dark World and manipulate Malakith.
He could honestly say he wasn’t expecting Kurse to stab him through, but the large man luckily missed his heart. Though he was not dying, he made it seem as if he was, casting an illusion over himself and giving Thor the goodbye that his fool brother probably always dreamed of.
Once Thor went away with his woman, Loki changed his appearance to that of a guard and went to tell Odin Allfather that his son was dead. The news shocked the weakened Allfather into the Odinsleep. Loki spirited the old man away, and took his place on the throne disguised as the Allfather.
When Thor came, Loki knew he would not take the throne. Knew that his brother’s allegiance laid with earth and his woman. He happily manipulated him into believing he had his father’s approval to abandon his duty.
Loki had the throne, but now that he had it, what shall he do with it? Was he done with Midgard and his brother?

He had everything he could ever want now.
Respect, honor, and the dignity that only a throne and a title could provide. The Warriors Three and Sif as well, bowed and obeyed his commands without question. All looked to him for guidance, as they grieved for those lost and they tried to move on without the steady presence of the Thunderer at their side.
There was a small funeral for the body of the Trickster Prince. It was not as grand, nor as opulent as the mass funeral for Asgard’s Queen and her soldiers. But it was enough, none but those close to the royal family attended. Eir, the Healer who once chased the mischievous prince from her study again and again. Mimir the Librarian who would grumble at his constant presence, but said nothing when he snuck books outside to read. Surprisingly, the Warriors Three and Sif themselves came. Even Thor returned briefly from earth to attend with his new woman, who held his arm steadily.
Odin made a grand speech, about how Loki’s sacrifice and bravery had made up for his past crimes. Now his soul can go on to peace in Valhalla……blah blah blah.
The boat caught afire, and the Trickster was no more.
Odin watched the departure of his son and his son’s woman from the balcony of his private chambers. Chambers only he or his wife may enter. Stretched on the bed was his double. Another Odin…. The real Odin in Odinsleep.
Unlike the last, this one went unnoticed with the murmurs of Thor’s betrayal.
It was Loki who turned from the balcony, form blending back into his preferred skin as easily as a fish swam through water. His green eyes took in the form of his not-father. He could feel a twitch of his lips.
“If only I could be in your head for a mere moment,” he cooed to the sleeping being, moving forward almost lazily to stand at the side of the bed. “Hear you rage…. Helpless to stop what I have done.”
He paused for a moment, taking Gungnir and placed it in it’s appropriate stand by the bed. “You see now, what a fool heart Thor is?” Loki explained to the king of Asgard, “How easily he thought you would approve of his actions. That you would ever let him give up his birthright. That you would ever let him leave you….” His lips twitched into another grin, “Or let him take that… what did you call her again?” Loki laughed, “Ah yes, a ‘goat’ for his wife.”
Odin still did not respond, Loki did not expect him to. But regardless of this, he leaned in past the protective barrier to whisper in his ear:
“Fret not, Son of Bor,” he whispered, silken words, “I shall leave your throne and your hollow crown to you. Let you rot on it without the sons and the wife you so took for granted.” Loki leaned away, and gave him a bitter smile.
“You shall now know what it is to be alone. And when you finally die, with no one by your bedside to wish you farewell, I shall return here…..” Loki turned, changing into the form of a guard, “And finish my revenge.”
Loki marched to the door, opening it and closing it with some finality. He turned to the other guards, who saluted in his presence.
“The All-Father entered the Sleep.” Loki intoned, “He has demanded that the Council of Seven attend to his duties.”
They saluted again, and went off to gather the Council. A group of war-mongering and greedy fools, who would cause more problems for Odin to deal with when the old fool woke. Last time they were in power, they almost went to war with Vanaheim.
Loki waited there for a moment, then he took a steeling breath, and walked the golden corridors to the family’s private gardens.
He did not want to do this….. it would be far easier to return to Midgard without it. But even he was allowed a little sentiment.
Loki allowed his disguise to drop when he entered Frigga’s personal gardens. No one would be here now. Already, the flowers wilted and shriveled, as if they sensed their mistress was now dead.
Loki swallowed, and he felt pain crawl into his heart. His fit in the cell was no illusion, the words he spat at Thor during his fake betrayal were pure lies.
He let himself sit heavily on the stone bench, elbows resting upon his knees and hands clasped out before him.
”You have always been such a stubborn boy.”
Loki looked up, smiling slightly at the image of Frigga as she sat down next to him. He tilted his head at her, “Stubborn….. and you’ve forgotten heartless.”
She tutted, folding her hands over her dress, ”Don’t think I didn’t see how you protected the Lady Jane. You do have heart, you just don’t show it often. Really, for all you claim to hate him, you can be exactly like Odi-“
Loki shook his head, staring down at his hands. “No….” The illusion stopped talking, “No I cannot do it.” He looked up, eyes glistening with tears.
“Goodbye mother.” he whispered, waving a hand and letting the image dissolve. Then he dropped his head into his hands and wept.
