Pavel Chekov
"I can do zat! I can do zat!".
”A hundred thousand disbelievers couldn't keep me on the ground,
I've invented a momentum that'll never slow me down,
I believe it 'cause I feel it, and I shout it out loud,
I can, I can, I can, so”

Given Name: Pavel Andreievich Chekov
Nickname(s):Russian Whizkid, kid, Pav, Pasha[Might get mad with that one] etc.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Age: 17
Race: Human
Home Town: Russia
Fandom: Star Trek(2009 reboot)
Canon or Original: Canon
Character Portrayal: Anton Yelchin
Hair: Light brown hair cut short as his hair is rather curly as proven by the longer bit of hair right above the top of his head. As an officer, it's easier to have one's hair short.
Eyes: Youthful green eyes
Height/build: 5'8” - Thin and lanky yet a firm build
Individual Features: A youthful appearance is clear upon Pavel, being only seventeen does help in that respect, and his face shows his age well in how young it looks. Puppy dog eyes and a pout are definitely suited to the boy's face but any scarring just strikes one as odd. However, the boy does have some scarring from the amount of attacks on the Enterprise that he's been around for but most are hidden under his clothes or are unnoticeable upon his fair skin.
Now clothing, not much choice in the area of appearance as Starfleet has a very specific uniform suited to each area of work. Pavel, as the navigator, is most often seen in a yellow Starfleet regulation shirt with what appears to be a black collar which it is but for another shirt underneath. The shirt has a small symbol on it in silver that has the command symbol due to his position as the navigator. Now, his pants are always these tight black pant and his shoes are black boots as well for that is his uniform. Off duty? Now that is a good question, when off-duty the boy is either in his uniform or dressed in a loose white shirt that makes him look much smaller than he is and more black pants but looser.
Powers: If being extremely intelligent is a power then the boy definitely has it.
Family:
*Andrei Chekov [father]
*Mrs Chekov [Mother]
Friends:
*Captain James T. Kirk [Captain and friend]
*Commander Spock [If one could count the man as a friend then, yes, they are friends]
*Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu [Best friend and helmsman]
*Lieutenant Commander Leonard McCoy
*Lieutenant Commander Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott
*Lieutenant Nyota Uhura
*The crew of the Enterprise
Enemies:
*Khan[Multiple reasons for him being an enemy]
*Nero[Insane Romulan motivated by revenge]
Occupation: Starfleet Officer
Personality: Innocent and child-like is one of the best ways to describe young Pavel. Being bullied obviously did not help in the respect to being innocent nor did being the youngest in Starfleet. No matter how much horrors Pavel sees, he always remains the innocent boy that he's known to be with his tendency to be oblivious to things like relationships though it's not that bad. Now being child-like is expected of the boy, he's only seventeen as one well knows but he's child-like in more ways than that. Even with his intelligence the boy has the tendency to be just as curious as a child, it isn't hard to be child-like in comparison to all the adults around you. Another child-like aspect of him is that he always has so much energy and is seemingly always cheerful, mostly. Added to Pavel being child-like is his need for entertainment as it is boring for all when on the bridge with nothing interesting happening.
Unlike his prime universe counter-part, he's not particularly flirtatious in any way as he prefers to just make some friends for once. However, another reason could be said that he does not flirt because he is not interested in anyone or is still too young for that. A reason to smack someone is given when someone assumes he's too young to flirt.
Truth be told, Pavel is rather quick to be angered especially when those he cares about are involved. However, with his anger comes his sharp-tongue which does involve insults spoken in Russian as he does have a tendency to revert back to his mother-tongue at different moments in time. Also, he has a slight streak of arrogance that is both a joke and real for he is a genius but he has a childish habit of saying that everything was made in Russia even if it isn't. Quite the interesting thing to listen to is what Pavel comes up with for what is from Russia even though it's not, a correction becomes the other part of the gag.
Loyal. A loyal person is what Pavel has long since proven to be especially under his captain. No matter how much someone tries, he'd never abandon his captain not willingly at least. Never does he blatantly question the orders of his captain with a few exceptions when he didn't seem to be in his right mind. Any order from his captain will be obeyed by Pavel not just out of duty but because Kirk is a good man in the eyes of Pavel. However, Pavel is a particularly playful boy as well and likes to joke with his best friend. It's not uncommon to see Pavel being playful with others.

History: [Liberties shall be taken here since little information was ever given in any of the main three alternate realities with Chekov. So history before the movies will be a mix of my own interpretation and each version of Chekov except the crazy ISS one since he was a complete flip, now I shut up.]
Born on stardate 2241 somewhere in Russia to Andrei Chekov and his wife, Pavel was raised in Russia for a most of his life. However, Pavel was quite the intellectual and did not take long to try to get all the knowledge he could. Learning English and Russian at school, little Pavel became skilled or semi-skilled in both though his English was clearly spoken with a thick Russian accent. With his ability to learn quickly came a new problems, the other students always gave Chekov very negative attention. Who could blame the kids? The boy could run circles around them with his knowledge and literally run circles around them. Pavel just seemed unfair to the other children.
It was of no surprise that the children began to bully the boy especially as he ended up being moved up a few years as what he learned just seemed to bore him. It's a surprise the boy is as cheerful as he is in the present with all the bullying. Getting tripped or picked on became a normal for the boy but he just seemed to take it in stride. Truth be told, little Pavel was hurting inside from the bullying but he'd never tell as it would give the bullies more incentive and that just would not do at all. Another truth was that Pavel didn't even understand why he was bullied, just because he was smart seemed stupid to the boy.
Due to the bullying, the boy worked even harder in school just to prove his worth but saved up for his future plans. Pavel would go to Starfleet academy and become an officer, that was his big plans for his life. At age fifteen, he graduated from Moscow State University stardate 2256. Directly after graduating, he applied to Starfleet academy without his parent's knowledge only to be accepted. Once accepted, the boy's plans went into motion. He ran. Away from home, away from the bullies, and away from Russia to go to Starfleet. Luckily the boy did leave a note and a secret goodbye to his family before he ran but that wasn't much better.
Starfleet almost seemed like a new home to Pavel but the boy knew he was looked down on. He was the youngest person to get into Starfleet academy! The boy was surely going to get on some people's bad sides simply with his age let alone his intelligence. It turned out to not be that different from any other school but at least the teachers sort of liked him there unlike those back in Russia. The Russian teachers didn't like how he knew more than them, he couldn't help that though. However, living in a dorm room wasn't too bad and his roommate could of been worse but it was alright there.
Pavel loved what he learned and none take him long to figure out. It was of no surprise the boy would graduate two years later, stardate 2258.
However, the graduation happened a little differently than it normally would of. What was thought to of been a freak space storm near Vulcan caused all eligible cadets to have to take part in helping Vulcan. Pavel as an eligible cadet was placed on the USS Enterprise, new ship in the fleet, as the navigator and joined the adventure to come. It was no freak storm. What was thought to be a storm turned out to be an attack which is what the cadet James T. Kirk had claimed it would be. The attack was by a Romulan named Nero who claimed to know Spock, first officer, and wanted him to watch as Vulcan was destroyed. Also, the Nero asked for captain Christopher Pike to come above to discuss but never returned him.
Pike placed Spock as acting-captain and Kirk as first officer while he was gone. Sometime later, Kirk and Sulu destroyed the laserbeam that drilled into the planet only for it to begin to combust. However, when it came time for them to be beamed up onto the ship they could not as a lock was impossible to be gotten. Yet it was not impossible, Pavel ran through the halls of the ship yelling 'I can do zat!' all the way to the transporter. Once in the transporter, he moved the person behind the transport station out of the way and began his quick work to get a lock on those waiting to be transported which he succeed. The planet being the home planet of Spock's meant the man had gone to the planet to save his people or as many of the elders that he could. Once more the boy was needed to use his abilities to beam people up. On the contrary, the boy beamed all but one up into the ship and that person was Spock's mother. Pavel never forgave himself for not being able to save her though he never says it blatantly or gives too much of an indication of it.
After returning to his station at the helm, Pavel followed all his orders and did not question Spock or anyone else. The boy barely spoke unless he needed to until Kirk returned to the ship after being abandoned on a deserted Federation planet. A fight between Kirk and Spock occurred with Kirk becoming captain. Basically, Spock realized he was emotionally compromised and Kirk got to be captain. Kirk was speaking to the chief medical officer and lieutenant Uhura when Pavel got an idea. This little idea of Pavel's would be the perfect way to stop Nero, who now wanted to destroy Earth because he had gone insane. Trying very hard to get the attention of the captain, the boy explained his idea of the Enterprise dropping out of warp near Titan, one of Saturn's moons, which would hide the Enterprise from being detected then have Scotty beam Spock and Kirk onto Nero's ship. The idea earned him a question of how old he was from the chief medical officer, it was rather offensive truth be told, only for Spock to show up and defend Pavel by saying the plan would work.
So, the plan was implemented and was a complete success thank you very much. With the saving of Earth, Pavel was assigned as navigator of the Enterprise once again with Kirk as his official captain to travel through space.
Sadly, the next year everything went wrong again. Scotty and Kirk got in a fight causing Scotty to leave the ship then Kirk promoted Pavel to chief engineer. Having Scotty teach him a few things about the ship seemed to of paid off but that didn't mean Pavel liked getting put somewhere else. This experience of being an engineer was his official realization that he did not want to be a redshirt (engineering wears them) at all. Due to attacks from a raging psychopath, Pavel had to repair the warp core as fast as he could to get the Enterprise to safety and he was lucky that he even knew how. The boy may of been a genius but that didn't mean he knew everything especially if he hadn't tried to learn more in the first place.
Sometime after his quick repairing of the warp core, he ended having to save Scotty and Kirk from falling to their deaths due to a lack of artificial gravity. Return to the ship and fall to their deaths, a bit dramatic? That just seemed to be the way it worked on the Enterprise. However, Kirk ended up dying by radiation poisoning not long after as he tried to save the crew. Thankfully, McCoy the chief medical officer brought the captain back but that did not mean the others who died were saved as well.
As many other officers did, Pavel attended a memorial for those that were lost in the fight against Khan the psychopath. It was almost a year later that the memorial occurred, so much of Starfleet had been destroyed in Khan's attacks. Sometime after, Pavel returned to the Enterprise as the navigator for the five year mission that would be filled to the brim with adventure and excitement. Hopefully the mission wouldn't involve as many deaths.

RP Sample: The starship USS Enterprise. The idea of serving on the newest ship in the fleet was dream at best for many and an honour for those who actually would get to serve. Decked out with the latest technology for starships and the latest weapons, it was an engineer’s dream. All the officers who would not serve on the Enterprise were jealous and wished to have a promotion that involved working upon that ship.
With all the brand new things on the ship, the thing that made most wish to serve on the ship was the crew. 'Best in the fleet' was what the crew of the Enterprise had been named and no better title was suited to the crew. Of course, the crew had their downfalls but what crew didn't? It was only natural to have some fights when one was stuck with the same person in a small, not that small but one gets the point, space for a very long time with no chance of separation. It was this ship that Pavel Andreievich Chekov served upon as the chief engineer for a brief time and the navigator.
“Ensign Chekov, set the coordinates for the nearest star-base.” The youngest captain of the fleet ordered the youngest ensign of the fleet.
“Aye, sir.” Pavel had responded with his thick Russian accent, his accent had a tendency to cause trouble especially when he had the com. Jokes had reached the boy's ear multiple times about how it was nearly impossible to hear him which was definitely untrue as no one seemed to complain in the moment about it. Truthfully, the young boy had heard some of the officers call him and his accent absolutely adorable which offended him a bit since he was a man not a child but he still took it in stride. If he wanted to be seen as a man then he most definitely could not go and get mad at someone for calling him adorable as they'd just continue, trust the statement for he's tried.
Moving on, the boy set in the coordinates with a pleased little smile. Going to the nearest star-base had long since been established to the crew as either time for repairs, a mission from starfleet, or shore leave. Shore leave and repairs would often occur at the same time but sometimes repairs were a cover-up for a undercover mission. Each member enjoyed their work but when they got shore leave no one complained and most definitely enjoyed it to the best of their abilities except the Vulcan first officer. No many ever actually expected Spock to enjoy his free time with his lack of emotions even Pavel wasn't completely sure about it. Sometimes Pavel would see spending time with Uhura or playing 3D chess with the captain but the rest of the time he didn't see him at all.
Navigating the ship was simple to Chekov as he did so, didn't completely need his full attention either. Watching the stars go by and all wasn't always the most entertaining of things especially if one was a seventeen year old with a lot of energy. Now, Pavel did not complain about being stuck in a chair his whole ship mostly just staring into space, quite literally one might add, but it did not mean he wouldn't of liked something exciting to happen. However, a sudden attack from some enemy ship was not what he wanted nor did he want his captain to start another fight with their first officer but something would be nice. It wouldn't of been a surprise to the boy if he looked at the captain to find him bored as well.
A quick glance at his best friend, who just so happened to sit right next to him as the helmsman, showed that his friend looked just as serious as he always did when working. Nothing new or interesting to his left, maybe his right? A glance towards the science and communications area on his right, nothing interesting there either. The poor boy was bored out of his mind! Another glance was given to his workstation, nada. Was there nothing to really keep him entertained? It seemed so.
Being as distracted as the bored boy suddenly got, he didn't even notice the small smiles on everyone's faces excluding Spock's as they saw the boy looking around. There were many on the ship who didn't want him there but the senior staff of the ship were not a part of that. The seniors were his friends and they saw him as an adult but they often noticed some minor hints of how he was still just a boy. Those times of him clearly being still a boy often came when he was bored on duty but the most known time that he showed his innocence was when they spoke of things outside of academics or the workings of the ship. On the other hand, he did have a tendency to claim everything was made in Russian which did give him a bit of a childish aspect but that was more of a little gag between Pavel and his friends.
Five hours was the wait time before they'd reach their destination. It was predicted that someone on duty was going to talk. The silence and boredom had to be broken somehow as the captain much preferred to talk as the young ensign had learned. None minded much when the captain would start trying to keep everyone awake while on duty especially since he always focused when the time came. Wasn't long now until someone would break the silence, Pavel preferred not to be the one though. Thankfully, it seemed it would be the helmsman Hikaru Sulu that would break the silence, at least for Pavel.
“Once we get off duty, I have something to show you.” Hikaru had whispered to Pavel with an excited little grin aimed towards the boy. Curiosity would be the death of the boy. The elusive answer made the boy excited as he knew that whatever Hikaru wanted to show him was something interesting as it always was.
“Vhat do you hawe to shov me, Hikaru?” The brunette asked softly with a childish smirk towards the other. Little smirks almost seemed like the right fit for the boy's youthful face and made him seem so different from his actual innocent self. Therefore, the smiles the boy would wear made him look even younger than he already was which did him no good in proving himself to be an adult.
“It's a surprise.” The asian man responded.
Now, Pavel did enjoy surprises but that did not mean he liked waiting for them. A childish trait many had told him was his impatience towards surprises but he didn't mind much. Who wasn't impatient when it came to surprises? If one knows, please do tell Pavel about it.
Giving his best friend his undefeated puppy dog eyes, that he was always told no one could say no to, the boy hoped to find out sooner. However, it seemed his friend just laughed and ignored him. Now being ignored would not do. Hikaru was not to ignore him and laugh, that wasn't fair. Sadly, just as the boy was going to complain at the older man the first officer decided to step in.
“Ensign Chekov and lieutenant Sulu, focus on your work.” The voice void of emotion rang out clearly around the room and that was the end of that.
It seemed the boy would just have to wait until shift was done or until they reached the star-base, whichever came first.
